Sorry, but I can't help thinking that this software would be a huge
disappointment if they released it now.
It will undoubtably be constrained by the type of bricks that you are
able to model from.
Those bricks will be the same bricks that are available as bulk today.
If they can't put a wider range of bricks into the bulk selection, I
can't see how they will miraculously be able to make them available for
mocs.

It's the bricks we need, not the software to model them with

Perhaps this means that a larger variety of parts are, in fact, available :)

I wonder - a model of a monolith made entirely of 2x6 yellow bricks. You
want bulk bricks - just draw a big picture of them. I could live with that ;)

Yeah... Couldn't you theoreticly use that with the lego mosaic?  Just take a
picture of a grey wall or something like that and send it in...  Coarse, you
would get plates.

As for this mythical software:
Hmmmm...  I wish we had more info then this year-old post.  Oh well.  I
think that the  'software' would only allow basic parts, more then the
current bulk bricks, but you couldn't say, make a 'model' of 50 star wars
cilenders, and then get them all shipped to your house.

<<snip>> (...) It's been done (the Mosaic thingie) by Henry Lim on his Catwomen, he used no less then 35 mosaics! See the result here: (URL) (22 years ago, 21-Apr-02, to lugnet.lego.direct)
