Re: I WANT FOLIAGE!!! (was Re: How Many Cypress Trees Would You Order?)

(...) What would you have done if you had gotten the bid at 99?? (that is, the other bid was topped out at 98 and then no following bid happened?) I'd hate to see you actually get stuck! Or worse, violate the eBay ToS by retracting... ++Lar (23 years ago, 30-Jun-01, to lugnet.lego.direct, lugnet.dear-lego)

Re: I WANT FOLIAGE!!! (was Re: How Many Cypress Trees Would You Order?)

I seem to remember Richard saying in some other thread that he'd simply follow through on the sale. Shouldn't we FUT this at this point elsewhere? I don't think it really belongs in .direct anymore.   Re: I WANT FOLIAGE!!! (was Re: How Many Cypress Trees Would You Order?)

(...) I see you jumped from $79 to $99.99 in a single increment. I would say that was taking a colossal risk, especially just to prove someone a fool! And if you want to impress upon TLC the desirability and value of these elts there are other ways (...) (23 years ago, 1-Jul-01, to lugnet.lego.direct, lugnet.dear-lego)

Re: I WANT FOLIAGE!!! (was Re: How Many Cypress Trees Would You Order?)

(...) I think I was getting lazy there. I had decided that the person had bid something over $100 USD. And when I bid by proxy, I bid a little over what I would wish to pay -- so a decent proxy bid would be something like $100.99 or even more. It (...)   Re: I WANT FOLIAGE!!! (was Re: How Many Cypress Trees Would You Order?)

To everybody in the discussion: Do you want to know the scary thing about the trees? Over a 4 year period I bought a 140 service packs (1988-1992) from a mail order company in Denmark for about $2.50 a pack. I listed 8 single packs 4-6 month ago on (...)   Re: I WANT FOLIAGE!!! (was Re: How Many Cypress Trees Would You Order?)

(...) Hi Larry! When I reviewed the posts on cypress trees I saw that one of my auctions became a topic of discussion of whether OR not to spend outrageous amounts of money on an item that The Lego Company should have never dicontinued in the first (...)   Re: I WANT FOLIAGE!!! (was Re: How Many Cypress Trees Would You Order?)

(...) Thanks for clearing that up, Mike. I'm not trying to start a war or be critical here so take what I say with a grain of salt, but it seems to me that you ought to be able to do what you see fit without letting what others think get to you. I (...) (23 years ago, 3-Jul-01, to lugnet.off-topic.fun)

Re: I WANT FOLIAGE!!! (was Re: How Many Cypress Trees Would You Order?)

(...) Please don't feel you were the target of any sort of criticism. I don't think anyone who participated in this thread holds anything against you for auctioning off the trees. If anything, it was good that you made some available to others. And (...) (23 years ago, 3-Jul-01, to lugnet.off-topic.fun)

Re: I WANT FOLIAGE!!! (was Re: How Many Cypress Trees Would You Order?)

(...) Michael: I hope you are well aware of the fact that I was in NO WAY slamming the seller of the cypress trees, in this case you, in any way. I was just being silly about the trees and how large a price they fetched. I wasn't sure if I made you (...) (23 years ago, 3-Jul-01, to lugnet.off-topic.fun)
