  Lego blew it AGAIN...

I got the 8458 Silver Champion a couple of days ago. In the instruction booklet, it shows a web browser (looks like Netscape on a Mac) open to www.legotechnic.com. OK, fine, go to (URL) .... Unable to locate server. <sigh> Here's a penny, buy a (...) (24 years ago, 29-Sep-00, to lugnet.lego.direct)

  Re: Just where is Scotland?

First, I apologize for jumping into this off-topic discussion with another off-topic response but I'll do it anyhow. What Paul says below is MOSTLY true, with some reservations. My experience is now about a decade old, so you UK people can help me (...) (24 years ago, 28-Sep-00, to lugnet.lego.direct, lugnet.loc.uk, lugnet.loc.ie)

Re: Lego UK - A Rip Off Britain Vendor? Some good, some bad prices.

(...) I copied this to lugnet.market.theory Shouldnt forget that the UK prices include VAT, whereas their is no sales tax in the US prices. This probably accounts for a sizeable chunk of the difference I also copied in the German prices. These are (...)   Re: Lego UK - A Rip Off Britain Vendor? Some good, some bad prices.

This is all pretty bad when one sees it in black and white - I think I was happier when I only had a sneaking suspicion that I was being ripped off! That said, I'm sure LEGO would say that marketing in Europe is much more expensive as the markets (...) (24 years ago, 28-Sep-00, to lugnet.loc.uk, lugnet.lego.direct)

  Re: Just where is Scotland?

Well, whether you like it or not, Scotland, Northern Ireland, and Wales are all subordinate to the sovereignty of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, sharing her laws, defense, and currency. But I'd be the first one to support (...) (24 years ago, 28-Sep-00, to lugnet.lego.direct, lugnet.loc.uk, lugnet.loc.ie)

  Re: Just where is Scotland?

(...) Yes, but you forget you could buy Scotland for the price of a studio flat down here. And that prices in many shops and for many services are much higher (I only have to compare what I pay in the same shop as my family in the west country or (...)   Re: Just where is Scotland?

  Re: Just where is Scotland?

  Re: Just where is Scotland?

(...) I would bet that many folks in England, and even more elsewhere could not tell you what England, Great Britain, or the UK actually represent. Geographically or politically speaking.   Re: Just where is Scotland?

(...) Nope, only that the UK should be described as the UK (it is now) not "England" as it was a few days ago.
