Re: LEGO disappearing from small toyshops

(...) *These are my personal thoughts on this subject and have absolutely nothing to do with any marketing strategies or theories that TLC holds or is planning.* I think that the market segment that caters to small specialized toy retailing is being (...)   Re: doors and windows pack

(...) Does anyone have an exact inventory of this set? I am in need of close to 300 of those 1x4x3 red windows, and am trying to figure out if this is the best way to get them. Grr.. guess I just have to buy one and inventory it myself. -Jason (...) (23 years ago, 15-Feb-02, to lugnet.loc.uk, lugnet.town, lugnet.lego.direct, lugnet.loc.eu)

Re: LEGO disappearing from small toyshops

(...) While I know that the minimum would not be a problem for some of us (I can easily spend several thousand at a time) there are sure to be other stipulations to be able to purchase wholesale. Most obviously that you are actually going to RESELL (...) (23 years ago, 15-Feb-02, to lugnet.lego.direct, lugnet.market.theory)

(...) minimum (...) By crikey, at that minimum, it would be viable for some regular consumers to buy wholesale from them! I reckon I could put together an order of that size entirely based on pre-sales from local AFOLs. Now there's a thought! Kerry (23 years ago, 15-Feb-02, to lugnet.lego.direct, lugnet.market.theory)

Re: LEGO disappearing from small toyshops

(...) Um, isn't this *really* big news? A minimum buy of $1000 would make it reasonable for some parts sellers to buy Lego at wholesale. It's not 75% off clearance, but wholesale would be a good price, especially if it gave a seller the opportunity (...) (23 years ago, 15-Feb-02, to lugnet.lego.direct, lugnet.market.theory)

Re: LEGO disappearing from small toyshops

For some time now I have been seeing all the small toy-shops from my childhood either disappear or cease selling LEGO. I never understood why that happened, but now you have mentioned the minimum order and obligation to use the full product line... (...) (23 years ago, 14-Feb-02, to lugnet.lego.direct)

Re: LEGO disappearing from small toyshops

(...) About two years ago I noticed a drastic drop (probably half -- maybe more) in the selection of Lego at one of my favorite indie toy shops. I didn't talk with the staff; I assumed it was because of competition from chains. I had the exact same (...) (23 years ago, 14-Feb-02, to lugnet.lego.direct)

  Re: doors and windows pack

(...) Hey guys, why haven't you cross-posted to Local/European Union? I would say it's important enough for the rest of us also. (Yeah, doors and windows!) 260 pieces is most likely the correct figure, because this piece count is also mentioned in (...)
