LEGO Factory Contest: Rules or Suggestions?

I guess TLC is not enforcing the rules of its own contest: (URL) The winner in the Senior category ("Deluxe Building" by GabrielLee) was built on 16 baseplates, as opposed to the 4 specified in the (URL) contest rules>. Can someone from TLC explain (...) (22 years ago, 22-Nov-04, to lugnet.lego, lugnet.build.microscale, FTX) !!

Re: Appreciating what TLG and Lego Direct have done for AFOL's

(...) Not joking. Only raising a point. (...) No, never went to BrickFest. Too far. Yes, communicated and discussed a lot of things with him, and talked to him personally, of course, when he was over here. TLG interacting? Now you're joking... (...) (...) (22 years ago, 22-Nov-04, to lugnet.lego)

Jake, could you please clarify the list? (Was: Re: Universal Color List...finally)

(...) Dear Jake, could you clarify this list? You mentioned some colours that are not on the list of Lego colours at Peeron, so I tried to find the most plausible matches of "your" colours to the Lego-internal list of colour numbers and names. The (...) (22 years ago, 22-Nov-04, to lugnet.color, lugnet.lego)

Re: Appreciating what TLG and Lego Direct have done for AFOL's

(...) Is Jake achieving? Are you joking? Maybe you're just not going to BrickFest, ever reading Jake's posts or interacting with TLG at all - but I'd say Jake isn't just doing something.. Jake is doing A LOT! And by that, I mean >achieving< results, (...) (22 years ago, 22-Nov-04, to lugnet.lego)

  Re: Universal Color List...finally

(...) Which was actually Trans-Neon Orange (although never called that). The spring cleaning boxes have a Trans-Orange (not Neon, people are calling it Trans-DkOrange). Also missing from the list is Trans-Neon Green. The Bionicle eye pieces also had (...) (22 years ago, 22-Nov-04, to lugnet.color, lugnet.lego)

  Re: Universal Color List...finally

(...) What? No Transparent Orange (as in the color from classic themes like Ice Planet 2002 and Aquasharks) (22 years ago, 22-Nov-04, to lugnet.color, lugnet.lego)

(...) How about incorporating Spring cleaning with Pick a Brick? Patty #1241 (22 years ago, 22-Nov-04, to lugnet.lego, FTX)

  Re: Universal Color List...finally

(...) Personally, I am surprised at some of the entries on the list. First, why is MEDIUM GREEN on the list?? It is not even a very common color. Except for some recent baseplates, foliage pieces, and pieces used in Belville sets, I cannot think of (...) (22 years ago, 22-Nov-04, to lugnet.color, lugnet.lego, FTX)

  Re: Universal Color List...finally

(...) These sets have three big disadvantages: They don't suite everyones needs in regards of selection of the parts, they are too expensive, and they are only available online. I bought only a few sets this year (even one with new bley in it, (...) (22 years ago, 22-Nov-04, to lugnet.color, lugnet.lego)

Re: Appreciating what TLG and Lego Direct have done for AFOL's

(...) Telling other people to shut up when they voice valid concerns is not a very democratic attitude. (...) I wish you (and therefor all of us) good luck that your trust will not be broken by the next "great" idea from upper management. BTW, I've (...) (22 years ago, 22-Nov-04, to lugnet.lego)

Re: Appreciating what TLG and Lego Direct have done for AFOL's

(...) You're making assumptions about what the majority feels about this issue. It would be wise for both sides of the debate to just speak for themselves. Especially if you don't want to ignite a counterstatement. And Gary, as I mentioned before, a (...) (22 years ago, 22-Nov-04, to lugnet.lego)

Duplo Castle set 4776 - and a problem

I picked up the 'Dragon Tower' Duplo Castle set (4776) today at LLCA and it is a very nice set. I was worried that I would not like them, that they would be "to MBish". While they do have a hint of "MBish" to it - it is still a very cool set and the (...) (22 years ago, 22-Nov-04, to lugnet.duplo, lugnet.castle, lugnet.lego, FTX)

Re: Appreciating what TLG and Lego Direct have done for AFOL's

Steve, iv'e got your back man. I remember walking into a lego shop (in sydney) when i was a kid and purchacing the most obscure pieces, ie, the 2x1 tap peice required to build the distributor on the 8860. service packs don't have the bits i want. I (...) (22 years ago, 22-Nov-04, to lugnet.lego)

Re: Behind the curtains - LEGO Factory AFOL Project Team

(...) Jake has only made one mistake he should regret - responding to you. Jake, don't wrestle with pigs. You just get dirty and the pigs enjoy it. (22 years ago, 20-Nov-04, to lugnet.lego, FTX)

Re: Appreciating what TLG and Lego Direct have done for AFOL's

(...) At the risk of adding being a "me-too", let me add my voice of appreciation. Now is definitely the best time to be an AFOL. And I can't wait to see what 2005 brings. The grey cloud on the horizon - in my part of the world, retailers are (...) (22 years ago, 22-Nov-04, to lugnet.lego, FTX)

Re: Appreciating what TLG and Lego Direct have done for AFOL's

(...) Lego still sells the old gray. They still sell bulk packs. Aren't you buying them? (...) Wrong. The factory is not intended to ease your color-change pain, and no one (including Jake) is trying to pretend it is. It is possibly the start of a (...) (22 years ago, 21-Nov-04, to lugnet.lego)

Re: One last Spring Cleaning set

(...) Good to know. I was watching for them to show up, but now I think I won't bother. The Walgreens sale is consistently offering a buy two get one sale that has the Lego at a penny per piece. 8.99 for 400 doesn't cut the mustard. If anyone does (...)
