  Universal Color List...finally

I always hate starting off a conversation with an apology, but I fear I must today. For a number of months, I’ve been working with colleagues to get a final word on our "locked" or "universal" color list. I hate wading back into the color change (...)   Re: How does the voting at the Lego Factory Competition work?

(...) This does seem awfully odd. It's still number one, with almost twice as many votes as the next runner-up. And it's a garbage image. But there's nothing in the rules that say you can't have all your friends vote for yours, no matter how (...) (22 years ago, 18-Nov-04, to lugnet.general, lugnet.lego, FTX)

Re: Behind the curtains - LEGO Factory AFOL Project Team

Great news, Jake! I think this shows a fundamental shift in the LEGO company's attitude toward AFOL's. Prior to this, I think we were perceived as a bunch of mostly harmless weirdos with a lot of time on our hands. But now, it looks like LEGO is (...) (22 years ago, 18-Nov-04, to lugnet.lego, FTX)

Re: LEGO BrickMaster Welcome kits now shipping

Hi, Jake! I got mine today, but I have a question. What I received in the mail was simply a plastic baggie containing the special BrickMaster version of the newest LEGO Magazine, a Bionicle comic, the LEGOland ticket, and some other inserts. Will (...) (22 years ago, 18-Nov-04, to lugnet.lego, FTX)

Re: Behind the curtains - LEGO Factory AFOL Project Team

I emphathize with your sentiments on the color change, Terry. I'm very happy to see that TLG is truly making an effort to involve us AFOL's much more deeply in the real nuts and bolts of the company, but I'm always going to feel like it should've (...) (22 years ago, 17-Nov-04, to lugnet.lego)

Re: Behind the curtains - LEGO Factory AFOL Project Team

(...) Hello Jake For once, we're on the same page :-) Text IS a bad media to express our emotions and feelings. As I was reading your answer to my post I had to keep in mind your warning about you not being upset at all, as some answer or comments (...) (22 years ago, 17-Nov-04, to lugnet.lego)

Re: Behind the curtains - LEGO Factory AFOL Project Team

(...) I was glad to see Ross' name on the list. After seeing his micro city with working train so many years ago, I think he was an obvious choice to be a part of the team. (URL) (22 years ago, 17-Nov-04, to lugnet.lego)

Re: Behind the curtains - LEGO Factory AFOL Project Team

(...) Like you, I debated for a while on whether to respond. Text is such a bad medium for communication, especially if you have a dry sense of humor like I do. Please read the message is the most positive way you can, as I'm not at all upset as I (...) (22 years ago, 17-Nov-04, to lugnet.lego, FTX)

Re: Behind the curtains - LEGO Factory AFOL Project Team

(...) Note: I'm speaking for myself here, not Lego. I think there are a couple of big things to be excited about: 1. From Jake's original post: "If the idea catches on, we will open up the virtual LEGO Factory for all LEGO fans to have their own (...) (22 years ago, 17-Nov-04, to lugnet.lego, FTX)

Re: Behind the curtains - LEGO Factory AFOL Project Team

(...) **snip of several names** (...) Hey John, is that your son Ross? Not to pick nits, but does he actually qualify as an AFOL? I thought he was younger. Not that there's anything wrong with young kids--I myself am quite fond of one in particular. (...) (22 years ago, 17-Nov-04, to lugnet.lego, FTX)

Re: Behind the curtains - LEGO Factory AFOL Project Team

(...) snip (...) I completely sympathize with you on the color change issue, but that didn't stop me from being excited about the LEGO Factory contest/micro town theme. Granted, I would have been a lot MORE excited about the whole thing if the sets (...) (22 years ago, 17-Nov-04, to lugnet.lego, FTX)

Re: Behind the curtains - LEGO Factory AFOL Project Team

(...) Hi, I thought long before posting about this. Mainly because I don't think I have anything positive to add and it may seem negative at first glance, but what I am hoping is for an explanation so I can understand. See, I read your first post a (...) (22 years ago, 17-Nov-04, to lugnet.lego, FTX)

Re: Behind the curtains - LEGO Factory AFOL Project Team

(...) I really have grown to like micro scale. It's great if you want to build a realistic cityscape with limited pieces. OK, so I've only built one small pair of micro models (not impressive, so don't ask about them), but they're still great. Early (...) (22 years ago, 16-Nov-04, to lugnet.lego, FTX)

Behind the curtains - LEGO Factory AFOL Project Team
