Re: LEGOfactory.com launches... and it's big!

(...) How kind of you to think that, David. But no, I live in Amsterdam, the capital city of The Netherlands (and that's somewhere in Europe :-) With friendly greetings, M. Moolhuysen. (22 years ago, 9-Nov-04, to lugnet.lego, lugnet.build.microscale)

Re: LEGOfactory.com launches... and it's big!

(...) Wow, I can't tell you how cool this is! I'm going to promote this in my CAD class, and withing both the Drafting and Architecture departments at my school. Something tells me this will finally get my Architecture students involved.. Nothing (...) (22 years ago, 9-Nov-04, to lugnet.lego, FTX)

Re: LEGOfactory.com launches... and it's big!

snippage (...) The requirements are pretty low by todays standard. MegaHertz is almost a word of the past. I can't really talk too loudly. My fastest computer is a 800MHz. I'm so almost obsolete Minimum System Requirements Operating system: Windows (...) (22 years ago, 9-Nov-04, to lugnet.lego)

Re: LEGOfactory.com launches... and it's big!

This looks cool and I hope it gets a lot of interest I was interested to see : "The ten Grand Prize Winners will each receive a 5 % royalty of the actual Net Sales of their sets (or if a winner’s set is bundled with other sets, then a 5% royalty of (...)   Re: LEGOfactory.com launches... and it's big!

(...) I'm happy about it too. Just so you don't feel left out, there are a lot of PC users (like me) who can't use this either because of the hefty system requirements of DD. Mainly, I feel I am missing out on seeing the cool files that have been (...) (22 years ago, 9-Nov-04, to lugnet.lego)

Re: LEGOfactory.com launches... and it's big!

So basically they are proposing to do "Cafepress for LEGO". Bloody brilliant if you ask me although I have to figure out how to justify something like $350 (cdn) to buy Virtual PC for my Mac. :( I also am looking forward to packs of the new road (...) (22 years ago, 9-Nov-04, to lugnet.lego, FTX)

Re: LEGOfactory.com launches... and it's big!

(...) It had been indeed often been topic of debate, but I am afraid economics dictate this. As only 5-10% is non-PC user, it does not make business sense to develop a mac version. On the other hand, it is well known that the "average" Mac user has (...) (22 years ago, 9-Nov-04, to lugnet.lego)

Re: LEGOfactory.com launches... and it's big!

(...) Definitely! To me it came up as trying to be hung off a LUGNET path which clearly is wrong unless I *really* missed a memo! FTX URLs can be tricky to get right. But hats off to Jake for bringing us this info in a hurry, FTX URL snafus are not (...) (22 years ago, 9-Nov-04, to lugnet.lego, lugnet.build.microscale, lugnet.off-topic.geek)

Re: LEGOfactory.com launches... and it's big!

(...) That also makes sense--that said, I know when I clicked on the link provided via FTX, it was a little wonky. Ahh, the internet... in all its mixed-up glory--the propagation of names is fickle--I have no problem here in southern Ontario, but (...)
