Re: Bowed plates around the engine?

(...) You can, but it's about 15 pounds: (URL) The superstructure is musing Technic beams and pins, so it can be held from the center and moved. The top cannon plate does have to be removed though. It's a gorgeous model. Joe (...) (19 years ago, 11-Feb-07, to lugnet.lego, FTX)

Re: Bowed plates around the engine?

(...) I don't believe they are bowed - it looks like the "roof" is mad of large circular sectors, which when tilted to get the conic shape produce what looks like bowing. ROSCO (19 years ago, 11-Feb-07, to lugnet.lego, FTX)

  Re: 10179: Ultimate Collector’s Millennium Falcon™

(...) A very cool set indeed, though I am another person stuck in my dark ages due to bley so probably won't get one either. I do have a couple of questions about it though... 1. Is the landing gear retractable? 2. Is the whole interior detailed and (...) (19 years ago, 11-Feb-07, to lugnet.lego, FTX)

  Bowed plates around the engine?

Indeed, it all looks great, except for the plates around the engine. They're quite bowed. I hope that's just a sign of hasty assembly. Even though I probably won't buy this set because it's in the new colors, it does look they did a superb job with (...) (19 years ago, 11-Feb-07, to lugnet.lego, FTX)

(...) SNIP (...) Cool set! I like this one and will order it as soon as my wife regaines contiousness. Oh, on the shop at home website, the pictures won't load. This may keep some shoppers from ordering one (or 5). Mark (19 years ago, 11-Feb-07, to lugnet.lego, FTX)

  Re: 10179: Ultimate Collector’s Millennium Falcon™

(...) Awesome! I really like that you made the UCS set compatible with minifig scale, and hope you'll apply the same concept to other UCS sets (AT-AT) in the future. -Steven (19 years ago, 11-Feb-07, to lugnet.lego, FTX)

  Re: 10179: Ultimate Collector’s Millennium Falcon™

(...) in a word: WOW In more than a word, I am very pleased to see another large "ok huge" Lego set catered to adult Lego and Starwars fans. You have to remember the mere idea of a set this large was literaly just an idea untill people talked about (...) (19 years ago, 11-Feb-07, to lugnet.lego, FTX)

Re: Very poor customer service from Lego Shop at Home

(...) Wait a minute....you turned down over 2,500 LEGO pieces...because it was the wrong scale...and then you made your Mom go through the hassle of returning the set??? Dude, let me trade one of my Christmas presents for it - oh, wait, I liked (...) (19 years ago, 11-Jan-07, to lugnet.lego.direct)

Re: Very poor customer service from Lego Shop at Home

(...) I agree fully. My nephews picked out a couple small Bionicle sets, which I'm not at all interested in, for me this year (and last year actually), but I accepted them with a smile and a thanks. I didn't even return them to the store. To do (...) (19 years ago, 10-Jan-07, to lugnet.lego.direct) !

Re: Very poor customer service from Lego Shop at Home

(...) I think the claim from Lego that the set had been opened is also a possible cause for complaint. But while it may not have been opened by Gregory or his mother, you never know what happened to the package on the return trip. Otherwise, I (...)   Re: Very poor customer service from Lego Shop at Home

(...) Seems to me they were acting entirely in accord with their return policy.   Re: Very poor customer service from Lego Shop at Home

(...) I think you missed the real point. It wasn't the price per piece that he was dissatisfed with. It was the set. Remember, not everyone who likes LEGO builds MOCs. The first thing I noticed was that his mother didn't notice the scale. Something (...) (19 years ago, 9-Jan-07, to lugnet.lego.direct, FTX)
