  Disappointed with Hogwart's Express

I bought HE yesterday at Friday at Walmart in Atlanta. I was disappointed with the set. I can understand why they didn't include the necessary parts to make it compatible with the 9v and 12v track, however, I think that LEGO took the cheap road with (...)   Re: Any HP sets in Canada?

No signs of any HP sets on the east coast either. I checked Wal-Mart and Zellers earlier in the week. Andrew (23 years ago, 21-Sep-01, to lugnet.harrypotter, lugnet.loc.ca)

  Re: Harry Potter in NJ/NY

(...) Update: Wal-Mart further down Route 1 (North Brunswick) has every set except the Castle and 4701 (Sorting Hat), in a large central display. I got Snape's Class and 4722 (Classroom). (...) Yes!   Re: Lego discontinuing Ninja series?

I am pretty sure, assuming Potter's popularity remains, that they would continue to make the movies beyond Goblet of Fire. The ending of GoF lends itself quite nicely to a sequal; personally, I'm dying to know whay will happen next. therefore, I (...)   Re: HP Hogwarts Express and normal 9V trains?

(...) You are correct sir. I forget, since I can assemble trucks blindfolded with one hand tied behind my back, and motors while I am asleep, that not everyone else can too. (23 years ago, 23-Sep-01, to lugnet.harrypotter, lugnet.trains)

Re: HP Hogwarts Express and normal 9V trains?

(...) That's presumably the reason, but I wonder how much more it would have cost to make it a push train? Certainly including a train motor would have dramatically increased the cost. All in all, I like the set. The coach is somewhat oddly built, (...) (23 years ago, 23-Sep-01, to lugnet.harrypotter, lugnet.trains)

Re: Harry Potter in Raleigh NC

(...) It drove me mad for a while too, but here's my solution for the stairs: Swap the black 3x1 and 2x1 bricks circled in the picture linked below (too complicated to try to explain - you'll just have to have a look!) You then have a piece jutting (...) (23 years ago, 23-Sep-01, to lugnet.harrypotter, lugnet.market.shopping)

Re: HP Hogwarts Express and normal 9V trains?

this is actually the very first time I visit the HP group. The reason? To ask the question about the HE and 9 V conversions. I was hesitant to order one, as the describtion on the S@H website states that the train will not run on Lego Track. But (...) (23 years ago, 23-Sep-01, to lugnet.harrypotter, lugnet.trains)

RE: HP Hogwarts Express and normal 9V trains?

Actually, the instructions show outlines of the 4 trucks being removed and replacing them with the new trucks and motor. Therefore, somebody not familiar with trains may have a hard time. They DO NOT show the assembly of the trucks or motor. Thanx, (...) (23 years ago, 23-Sep-01, to lugnet.harrypotter, lugnet.trains)

Re: Harry Potter in Raleigh NC

(...) I don't really like the stairs at all. The sprial quality is nice and the fact that they're not just one solid piece of plastic is kind of neat, too. But Frank's right about the fact that they don't lock into position. If you should jar the (...) (23 years ago, 23-Sep-01, to lugnet.harrypotter, lugnet.market.shopping)

HP Hogwarts Express and normal 9V trains?

Hi All, now that  4708 Hogwarts Express is available (in USA via S@H and some stores) can someone please answer me this. Why on earth did LEGO not make this amazing train compatible with the existing 9V train sets? What were they thinking?!? It (...) (23 years ago, 23-Sep-01, to lugnet.harrypotter, lugnet.trains)
