6399 has a 16x16 grey baseplate, which is why I've always found it hard to
build this set from spares.
Late 80's to early '90's basic sets had both sizes if I recall.

| Do gray base plates come in a size of 16x32 or even 16x16? Before you answer this question, I should let you know I prefer the answer to be yes and that they are in a 1500 piece set that is currently on clearance at TRU for $5.00 (or less). However (...)
