Wow! You totally missed the orange halloween bucket,
with several hundred orange pieces, last year? And the
Star Wars sets, many of which have orange pieces, including
the Pod Racers and the Snowspeeder? It seems to be a
semi-standard colour, sort of like turquoise and purple, that
doesn't appear in buckets (generally) but does appear in sets.
It seems to have started a US thing--but I'm surprised that
you haven't seen them!
