It sounds as if you are out of luck. The symptoms you describe suggest that
the glue used was meant primarily for plastic models. It bonds the parts
together by causing a chemical reaction that melts a bit of the plastic that it
is touching and causes it to merge together to effectively make one piece.
Once glued this way, stuff stays glued unless you are willing to damage one or
both parts to separate them.

Generally speaking, anything that's going to be strong enough to work on any
glue stronger than Elmer's White is going to wipe out the paint long before it
touches the glue.

| Hello, I just received a winning from an auction, and I must say that I am slightly (1) annoyed. The minifigs that came with the set were all glued together! After trying vainly to pull apart the minifigs, I realized that the glue involved must have (...) (25 years ago, 20-Jul-99, to lugnet.general)
