My non-Lego wife and I have running battles about Lego being left around on • the main floor of our home.  Last week she went on a
business trip, and guess what took over the whole house for a week?

It was great fun!  My 4 yr. old daughter is finally getting into Lego, • building houses with me, and spaceships (I use the term
loosely--she is only 4) all on her own.  I just went through a major piece • sorting project, and I found that having the buckets of
sorted Lego left out inspired all kinds of creativity.  I have one box of • black and white 2X bricks, and came home one day to find a
b&w checkered "spaceship" waiting for me.  My son (8) and daughter • collaborated to make a field of flowers using all the flowers we
have.

BTW, I found a great use for all those extra flower tops--stick them into the • rounded trees at a 45 degree angle for a great
flowering tree.

Alas, all good things must come to an end, and (most) of the Lego has once • again been banished to the upstairs.  When did you say
that regional conference is, Honey?

Excellent story,  I am in a similar situation with a non-Lego wife although I
did get her to build a small car (Can't remember the set number but it comes in
a plastic bag and not a box) so maybe there is still hope.

Unlike yourself I don't have any kids (yet) so I don't have anyone else to
build with (Unless my 5 year old nephiew visits).  My wife on the other hand
tollerates Lego on the first floor for brief periods of time.
