Re: Seeking Lugnet community help for a freeware computer game

(...) What it also means is that if you need to tweak something and re-render, you cant kick of LPub and then leave it rendering with little interaction. Being able to save LPub settings is very handy here... (...) Yes, the lack of undo is a bit (...) (18 years ago, 12-Jul-06, to lugnet.general, lugnet.cad, lugnet.gaming)

(...) > It allows you to configure stuff like (...) Yes, had a good play with Lpub last night. Will use your tip re lowest quality for quick renders :-) (...) I will look into the step system, thanks. Saves me manually "save/render" over & over. I (...) (18 years ago, 12-Jul-06, to lugnet.general, lugnet.cad, lugnet.gaming)

  "State of the Nation"

(...) I'm not so sure I'd be so pessimistic about the overall state of affairs for the AFOL community. Some pretty baddish stuff happened, and lots of stuff has changed, but the future holds lots of potential. After putting in many years of service (...)   Re: legofan.org dead?

(...) Christian, You are absolutely correct that we have had dead forums since May. We are dead in the water at the moment, but are working frantically to get the new server online. The problem is that we were being (very generously) hosted on a (...) (18 years ago, 11-Jul-06, to lugnet.general)

Re: Seeking Lugnet community help for a freeware computer game

(...) In terms of "showing someone how to build your model", you would still normally have to put in the work to show what the steps were. All LPub does is provide a point/click workflow for getting it all rendered out into a directory full of image (...) (18 years ago, 11-Jul-06, to lugnet.general, lugnet.cad, lugnet.gaming)

  legofan.org dead?

Hi, all, after some time I took another stroll to legofan.org, and noticed that they still seem to have mayor difficulities over there. The Forums died on 5th of May, reappeared for a few hours and eight posts on 25th/26th of June, and are dead (...) (18 years ago, 11-Jul-06, to lugnet.general)

Re: Seeking Lugnet community help for a freeware computer game

(...) Ahh, I had read about LPub, but I thought it was just for showing someone else how to build your model step-by-step? Will download it now, as "X does the Gruntwork for you" is a very good feature for me! Yes, downloaded LGEO as I saw the (...)   Re: The Kjeld Billionometer

(...) The best part about this is that Kjeld is one of the nicest, kindest, most modest people I've ever met. (I can say this and have you believe me since I'm no longer employed there!) One of my greatest career moments was sitting in his office (...) (18 years ago, 11-Jul-06, to lugnet.general)

  Re: The Kjeld Billionometer

Thanks for the info Suz! When I looked at the Forbes list a few years ago, I remember seeing another Danish name on the list (can't remember it)... but the company associated with that other name is familiar to us all.......MAERSK! I guess when (...) (18 years ago, 10-Jul-06, to lugnet.general)

  Re: The Corinthian

(...) Thanks much. I like the blue guys, so I figured they could use a big ship. God bless, Sean (18 years ago, 10-Jul-06, to lugnet.pirates, lugnet.general, FTX)

  Re: The Corinthian

(...) Well, you can -technically- view the lower decks, if by view you mean look down and say 'oh look, you can see lower decks'. I plan on removing the top most deck and then adding details to the lower ones, and also extending the ship slightly so (...) (18 years ago, 10-Jul-06, to lugnet.pirates, lugnet.general, FTX)

Re: Seeking Lugnet community help for a freeware computer game

(...) Excellent. I use that to present stuff occasionally too. Its not bad at all. Have you considered using LPub, which can do the gruntwork for you? Also, using LGEO which can make things look a bit nicer, and MEGAPov which gives the Lego a more (...) (18 years ago, 10-Jul-06, to lugnet.general, lugnet.cad, lugnet.gaming)

Re: Seeking Lugnet community help for a freeware computer game

(...) Danny, thanks for the reply. I have just discovered the Lcad->MLcad->l3p->povray method, and though I've only done the first 2 steps, I can see (having seen some nice POV renders on websites) the quality that can be achieved. As for your (...) (18 years ago, 10-Jul-06, to lugnet.general, lugnet.cad, lugnet.gaming)

Re: Seeking Lugnet community help for a freeware computer game

(...) Hi there Gabriel, This sounds very cool. I am not sure I can help you with provision of sprites, but have you thought of using a script to convert LDraw models to simpler meshes (with textures), and then animating those. I know you are going (...) (18 years ago, 9-Jul-06, to lugnet.general, lugnet.cad, lugnet.gaming)

  Re: The Corinthian

(...) Ahoy! Good work Sean. I love how many gun ports this provides. One thing I didn't see in the pics was whether you can access/view the lower decks. If not, that might be an interesting feature for your next ship. I like the use of the katana. (...) (18 years ago, 9-Jul-06, to lugnet.pirates, lugnet.general, FTX)

Summer S@H catalog reactions - all positive!

Hey all, Just got mine in the mail a few days ago. In the interests of positivity (of which there seems to be a shortage of these days!) and as a non-fan of the new grays/brown and of Bionicle parts in System sets, I will confine my comments to what (...)   Re: LEGO® Bandit gets 13 months in prison
