I am thinking that i might be able to enjoy my Lego again, build some if i • had
less of my Lego out.
While i do not want to make a big project of the sorting of stuff to • store, does
anyone have suggestions on what to keep out?
Has anyone else felt this way and imposed this kind of limit on
his/herself?

As someone with a very large collection, I can say that I have wondered if I
would be better off with a smaller collection. A good storage system goes a
long way toward alleviating this problem, but other issues are how much time
you spend sorting, and how much time you spend buying. Then there's the time
spent dealing with any MOCs you have and finding space to display new MOCs
and such.

Now that I have a bigger place (Sheree you need to visit out here and get an
idea how much better things are than my old place in Cary...), I am not
nearly so overwhelmed by my collection. I have space to build and move in
the LEGO room. I also have set up a system of smaller storage units with
drawers or small tubs to keep a selection of parts to build from. I still
have to go diving into the main bins to find odd pieces and such, but it's
much easier and enjoyable to build when you can put your finger right on
most of the pieces you need.

uh, maybe i should've posted this to .building or .storage instead of
.general?

Hmm, much as a compartmentalized dork I am, I think this probably actually
belongs here. You're not asking how to store stuff, but you're question is
more of a general "what size collection is good and how do you keep from
being overwhelmed by it?"
