comes to mind (any color) without even thinking?
Mine's a 2x4 plate.

| Most definitely 2x4 brick. Those would be in red, blue, yellow, green, brown, light grey, black, and white. I think I would be a lot happier with less colors. Before I came out of my dark age, I didn't have any idea colors other than these existed. (...) (21 years ago, 18-Mar-04, to lugnet.general)

| (...) Minifigs. As much as I've gotten into BIONICLE, it can't undo two decades of conditioning in a mere three years, and when I was growing up, if it wasn't designed for a minifig to use, it wasn't done being built. Well, except for those odd (...) (21 years ago, 18-Mar-04, to lugnet.general)

| (...) Nothing comes to mind when I think 'Lego', but I always think of a red 2x4 brick when I think 'LEGO'. ;) I also think of the classic smile minifig head, my collection, a RCX and any other 'normal' brick. | (...) Hey, When I think of "Lego", the first thing that comes to mind is not an element but a model. But you said the first element... Mine would have to be the 2x4 brick in yellow because it is the "TRUE BRICK". Wow I never thought of that before (...) (21 years ago, 19-Mar-04, to lugnet.general)

Although less common it seems more iconistic than the 2x4 the classic minifig smiley is just behind. On that note, have people (...) (21 years ago, 19-Mar-04, to lugnet.general)

Like several others, it's not a specific brick....It's that 'click-click-click-click-click' sound of bricks clicking together in the 5 colors--yellow, red, blue, white and black--used in LEGO tv commercials back in the 1970's (and I apologize (...)
