Biff has landed on Mars
The LEGO minifigure Biff has landed on Mars and became first “man” on the red
planet.
Biff Starling - or at least a picture of him - is on board the the rover which
landed on Mars on Sunday morning after a seven months journey. In a couple of
weeks Biff will be joined by his female friend - the LEGO minifigure Sandy
Moondust who is on board a similar Marsrover, Opportunity.
Children all over the world follow, on the Internet, Biff and Sandy on the Mars
expedition and the LEGO Company supports the space project to encourage children
to develop an interest in the sciences and to encourage children’s imagination,
learning and creativity.
Biff is on board the Marsrover which later drives around Mars to search the
planet. Scientists hope, with the help of three magnets attached with LEGO
bricks made of aluminum, to find out whether there used to be fluid water on
Mars.

| One can clearly see the DVD disc on the lander. See: (URL) The disc is in the middle lower portion of the picture (light circle shape) with the minifig (darker oval shape) clearly represented in the middle of the disc.
