| | Chat with Kate & Jake
|

Hello, On www.1000steine.de, we had a Chat session this evening with Kate and Jake from LEGO Direct. First I have to say a huge "Thank you", since both ventured to chat with one of the most critical communities in the world - with the griping (...) (21 years ago, 8-Dec-03, to lugnet.general) !!

Next time I'm sure Jake will have a text ready to paste: "Can't talk about the future but nothings dead and new stuff is always comming!" Or similar. Poor Jake *shakes head* Oh! Thanks for posting it here too, it's been a while since German in (...) (21 years ago, 9-Dec-03, to lugnet.general)

(...) Nice to see confirmation of something that I have suspected for a while now. TLC is heading in many directions, but Bionicle (regardless of what some people think of it) is what is keeping the mothership afloat and steaming. Ray (21 years ago, 9-Dec-03, to lugnet.general)

Hi Mike (...) We spoke not about _any_ bulk order, but about _the_ bulk order we planned 8 month ago and which isn't finished so far. It's some kind of testing it, so we're still waiting for simplier possibilities to order in bulk too. But as Kate (...) (21 years ago, 10-Dec-03, to lugnet.general)

(...) In reply Yes you can order bricks from Lego Direct Europe. The price is set at per brick and not by weight, and I was quoted 7 to 10 pence per brick so it is still cheaper to buy them through pick a brick or S@H. I didn't put and order in. (...) (...) OK, I had to think about this for a while - but it does raise a question: How do they determine how many PaB cups of bricks are in a carton? Do they just guestimate, or do they fill a cup and work off of that? Because, AFOLs (and kids!) who (...) (21 years ago, 8-Jan-04, to lugnet.general, lugnet.lego.direct)

I got the impression that a newly arrived box full of any one type of brick equals a certain number of sales, so I presume it's based on how many cups you can fill from an average box of average parts.
