(...) Yes it has been made. See here: (URL) I recall it was in one of the pink freestyle buckets from years back. Off the top of my head I am not sure what one - but it is a real Lego part, and is very hard to come by. Mark P (URL) (21 years ago, 16-Aug-03, to lugnet.general)

(...) Ya, I went and checked <set:345> and 4161: (URL) its not listed in there either... I have had this brick for years, but am almost positive it came from a tub, not a set. Either way, there is one out there just a matter of finding it now ;) And (...) (21 years ago, 17-Aug-03, to lugnet.general)

Um, WHERE do we get this set? I didn't see it on S@H Germany or UK. It seems they have the Magnets Small (4202677) and Medium (4202678) Classic Sets, but not the Large you picture. I want a few dozen to cover most of my fridge with ;-) Jake - why (...) (21 years ago, 17-Aug-03, to lugnet.general)

(...) I was at the Lego store in Chicago recently (crappy selection of brick grab bags, grr...), and they had those magnet sets, though not sure if they had that big one in particular. If those are usable with regular bricks, I'm now very tempted to (...) (21 years ago, 18-Aug-03, to lugnet.general)

Re: Has this part ever been made in pink ? —Ray Sanders
(...) Well, at least that proves that they exist in a current "something". Now, if only there were some way to obtain that brick by the thousands.... Dear Lego, Please put those Pink 2x4 bricks in the Pick-A-Brick selection (pref at the Orlando (...) (21 years ago, 18-Aug-03, to lugnet.general)

(...) Ah yes, they have that at LLCA also - if I am not mistaken that set is about $15ish. I got one of the smaller sets - they are just regular bricks with little magnets stuck in the tubes on the underside. They are quite strong, and the bricks (...)
