Well, if they could get away with selling the Movie Maker Set With Falling
Twin Tower Action after 9/11... (To this day, I still don't see how they
managed to avoid complaints about that.)

I'm getting it too, but only partially for that reason. My real motive is
that I've always wanted an accurate space shuttle model, and this appears to
be it. :P The two Town-based shuttles I had (the NASA one and one of the
two Launch Command ones; I assume the weird LC-ish one with the truck and
the later "rocket with little wings" were similar in this regard) always
drove me crazy--even if I did buy a million sets to get a full crew
complement, there was no room for all seven minifigs in the shuttle--and the
Technic shuttle was too expensive for a then-kid like me (and has the
additional disadvantage of just being a space shuttle shaped mass of beams
and gears). This looks to be a set worthy of my bookshelf, especially since
I have three Transformer space shuttles there already. You might say I'm a
fan of the STS program. XD
