Why is Lugnet so quiet these days? —Huw Millington
It is taking me less than 10 minutes a day to read the messages in the 30+ newsgroups I look at these days compared to perhaps 30-40 minutes six months ago. Where's everyone gone? Is there nothing worth talking about any more? Is Lugnet getting (...) (22 years ago, 5-Dec-02, to lugnet.general)

(...) I hope not, it is by far my favorite place to visit online. (...) Well, Huw, I also have noticed that things have been quiet lately. With the exception of .off-topic.debate, the usual groups I read seem to all be getting about half the (...) (22 years ago, 5-Dec-02, to lugnet.general)

(...) I want to confirm the college problem :) I only have time to read a few posts a day. Graduate school projects take too much time (final exams are the easy part). However soon I will have a one month break to play with Lego! Ben (22 years ago, 6-Dec-02, to lugnet.general)

(...) I'm backing up Ben with his confirmation on the whole college thing. It really is a scam. They give you very little work throughout the whole semester to lure you in, and then when you least expect it...BAM! Big ol' final in two weeks and you (...)      (...) Also can't forget the poor souls in regular school who have homework through the roof and mainly due the next day. NTM, theres a lot more snow on the ground now, and its always good to go play 'King of the Hill' instead of typing. (...) Last (...) (22 years ago, 6-Dec-02, to lugnet.general)

Re: Why is Lugnet so quiet these days? —Tobbe Arnesson
(...) I'm sure the masses are still reading occasionally. As less is posted less is posted then less is posted. The big flamewars of early '02 has ended and that is a good thing. I think Lugnet has become a more firendly place again. I sure hope it (...) (22 years ago, 6-Dec-02, to lugnet.general)

(...) I agree, as an occasional poster that bit of nastyness sent me deeper into lurk mode. I still visit Lugnet 6 days a week and read alot of posts but I don't add much to the community. Maybe someone should take role call for all the regular (...) (22 years ago, 6-Dec-02, to lugnet.general)

Re: Why is Lugnet so quiet these days? —David Koudys
(...) I note that posting's down across all the boards I happen to frequent. Mayhaps there is truth in the rumour that this internet thingy is just a fad and the thrill is waning...    (...) Uh, I'm in South Africa, so I don't have as much time to read or post anymore. :) Also, no access to my collection. Sadness abounds; sympathy may of course be expressed in donations of fine LEGO. LFB (Lego-less for another year yet) (22 years ago, 6-Dec-02, to lugnet.general)
