Hey David,
To register a domain you do not need anything special. When I first
registered my site I did it at register.com and paid like $35 for it. But
that was WAY too much. Go over to http://godaddy.com and get one there. It
does the exact same thing those $30+ places do - but for only $9 a year.
That is quite the difference. And its the same thing, so there is really no
need to pay over $10 a year for your www name. And Go Daddy has the same
bells-and-whistles the $30+ guys have.
As far as hosting, I use http://www.tera-byte.com - and I am REALLY happy
with them. My site has never gone down, always been fast and the help there
is awesome. I looked around for months for a good hosting company, and I am
really happy with Tera-byte.
Hope this helps!

| Hey all, Since the update to my website and my posts to .castle and .space, I got an e-mail from my ISP, Earthlink, telling me that I've used 75% of my alloted bandwith. If I exceed it they'll shut my site down for the rest of the month: Dear (...) (22 years ago, 23-Sep-02, to lugnet.general)
