I too went with Main Street (6390), pretty much on impulse. I have one from
childhood (okay, it was my sister's, but she said I could have it recently)
and remember it fondly. As soon as I saw it listed, I couldn't imagine
voting for anything else because, as Larry so aptly put it, it rocked. It's
such a great addition to the Town theme, and it's so hard to find in top
condition.
2nd and 3rd for me went to Yellow Castle (375) and Black Falcon's Fortress
(6074). Can't beat all the bricks and all the figures in the original
castle, and the price point and coolness value on 6074 is a great deal.
I feel for the Space fans out there, but I got a Battrax a few months ago
and liked it well enough but didn't love it. The Alienator is what makes my
heart race.
And before I sign off - MAJOR KUDOS to Jake and the Lego Direct gang for
setting this up. LUGNET and AFOL will have no one to blame but ourselves if
we don't get what we want...which makes me wonder if this isn't some
deliciously deviant little psychology experiment LD cooked up to get us all
riled up while it sits back and laughs. 8*)
