Buh...
Joel, I really am not sure .what. to say other than wow.
It's hard to issue high praise, when it gets issued for most things posted
on LUGNET. Trying to think of new adjectives to describe the level of
quality and skill put into this chapter is something well beyond my
abilities. :)
That is simply wonderful. The 'sets', backdrops/backgrounds, editing, and
the script make this one chapter as good as the entirety of many movies. I
found myself just shaking my head in wonder at the way you did many (most?
all?) of the shots.
The editing of the blond-haired girl to give her the twin pony tails was
really cool - actually ALL of your facial editing was excellent.
And I especially liked the sense of subtlety used in various shots. Without
ruining the story before others have read it -- did I correctly notice that
a certain file was.. um.. "relocated"? ;)
The shots that I especially enjoyed from chapter one:
1. The Mother Superior's office. The computer on the desk is too sweet. How
did you affix the screen, though? Is it glued or just balanced there?
The artwork on the wall in the back right corner -- is that hand drawn? Heck
- all of the art/decoration/furinishing in her office is top notch. It
really gave a great feel to those scenes for me.
2. The bridge of Sindumako. When I stopped and looked at how you did it,
it's so simple(seeming) - but when it's all put together.... man.. I have
no trouble believing it to be organic, etc. It looks like something that
could have been taken out of Alien(s). Those command chairs are too cool.
Just top notch all the way around, sir. I was hoping for great things,
having looked at your editing job on the title picture to your site, and
after reading your first parable. I must say I'm not hoping anymore. I'm
quite sure that the rest of the story will be as (or more) entertaining than
any movie I might choose to see -- and it'll cost a lot less, too! :)

| (...) cool, I am glad that detail is noticable. I am using a slightly outdated camera and it is a little blurrier than I would prefer for the close-up. I am going to borrow someone's cam for the next chapter to see if the pics come out any clearer. (...) (23 years ago, 2-Sep-01, to lugnet.general)
