??? Why the ‘Rainbow Bar’ ??? —Richard Noeckel
Why the ‘Rainbow Bar?’ I remember seeing this when I was little. Some Lego sets from the 60’s and late 70’s had a ‘five color-bar box’ right next to the TLC logo. In Set Reference, under set number 139 (and a few others) you can see the five (...) (24 years ago, 20-Apr-01, to lugnet.general)

Yeah, the five color bar box was a kind of trademark logo. It used to be animated on 70s TV commercials - the bars would snap together and click. Unless I am thinking of some other toy.         Re: ??? Why the ‘Rainbow Bar’ ??? —Clark Stephens
Richard, The earliest I could find this logo was 1964's <set:315_3 European Taxie>. At that time, the five colors were the only ones available in bricks (the history of green & grey plates & bricks is in a different thread). Lego kept the logo even (...)    Good answer Clark! You are correct. The original Lego sets from the late 50's had blue borders with lots of yellow background in the picture on the box, and "LEGO System in Play" in lots of different languages. From 1960-65 (or thereabouts) the (...) (24 years ago, 23-Apr-01, to lugnet.general)
