    Weekly What's This Part? —Kevin Stephens
   Trans-Clear brick 2x4 champange tint with two metal holes on side for 4.5V pins, no bottom. Inside has two flat holders & what looks like a fuse. Fuse says 4.5V with other writing illegible. Thought it was a train fuse, but saw a Lightbrick (set (...) (23 years ago, 16-Jan-01, to lugnet.general)

    (...) If that brick has a "ruffled" look to the 4 "wall" brick surface (can't remember if the texture is on the inside or outside) then it indeed is a #245.    Right on, Gary! My brick does have ruffled walls on the inside. Your year info makes it available in the same time frame as my lot (1967). Looking up Lightbrick on Lugnet didn't show bricks that late, only the 1958 set #248. The two later bricks (...) (23 years ago, 18-Jan-01, to lugnet.general)

   Thanks Kevin, I am always glad to help other AFOL's unravel the mystery of old LEGO! One other note on this one, in Europe, the spare parts boxes (erzatzteile in German) that the non-chain toy stores carry probably still have some of these lamps (...)
