I want someone to explain the new Lego Creator line to me. On one hand it
seems to be positioned to replace Lego Basic. Yet the new minifigures
compete with the scale of the current minifigures and offer more detail
(printed detail on the legs for instance) and more realistic proportions
which should make them more attractive to older children.

I dunno about the new figures.  They are certainly better proportioned,
but also slightly "dumbed down", as their hands cannot twist.  But then
again, it looks a bit like their head has a ball joint, like the Technic
figures.

A good thing is that their taller height makes them match the minifig
tools better.  After all, most minifig tools are much too large for the
minifigs!
