Well since we now have pictures of the 2001 German catalog

I want someone to explain the new Lego Creator line to me. On one hand it
seems to be positioned to replace Lego Basic. Yet the new minifigures
compete with the scale of the current minifigures and offer more detail
(printed detail on the legs for instance) and more realistic proportions
which should make them more attractive to older children. Also the sets seem
to come with videos and idea books as if a key to the line's identity was
their multi media aspect. Lego should tell us if these sets will have a USA
release and when. And whether Creator is going to replace other lines. Or
simply say how this line fits into the overall scheme.
PS-if any pertinent information is in the German catalog, I would love for
someone to offer an English translation.

| (...) I dunno about the new figures. They are certainly better proportioned, but also slightly "dumbed down", as their hands cannot twist. But then again, it looks a bit like their head has a ball joint, like the Technic figures. A good thing is (...) (23 years ago, 10-Jan-01, to lugnet.dear-lego, lugnet.general)
