This evening, I decided to challenge myself to build a small, yet cool looking
fully motorized vehicle. Turned out I had the extra challenge of
photographing a black model :)
My previous attempt at a very small and fully motorized vehicle was too tall
for my taste, and the steering wasn't prototypical. This attempt, is shorter,
wider, and longer...ie, it's a not-quite-minifig scale sports car instead of a
minifig scale truck/van.

The results: a 8x24x5 black sports car...it ended up looking like a modified
Corvette, IMO (except that the engine is in the wrong place). You can see the
wires for steering (micromotor) and driving (geared motor) sticking out the
driver side window. These attach to longer wires from the controls:

Unfortunately, I was unable to fit seats inside, so I didn't bother with
opening doors and instead added some side details. The rear hood does open,
though. Underneath is a big V8. As always, please LMKWYT!

| Hi Bram, well done!! Such a small car with two motors!! Fantastic! I allways struggeled to fix a steering motor into my large technic vehicles. Anyway, the time I tried this, none mircomotor existed. I really love the front and rear part of the car. (...) (24 years ago, 16-Dec-00, to lugnet.build)

| Considering the motors, it still ended up pretty sleek! I like the side air intakes and rear lights. They are well done. And you did a good job at concealing the micro motor. I also like the front mudguards... Fredrik (24 years ago, 16-Dec-00, to lugnet.build)

| Very cool - I'm amazed at how small it is given that it contains both steering and drive motors. I'm irritated that micro-motors are no longer available (at least last time I checked LEGO didn't have any more and didn't know if they would get more). (...) | Bram, Bravo! A very very beautifully styled car even if it didn't have "action" features. The motion and control features make your model very actractive, indeed. Elegance in a small package. :-) later, James Mathis (...) (24 years ago, 20-Dec-00, to lugnet.build)

| G'Day Beautiful model ! So how did you take those great shots of a black model, I am thinking shadow box and over exposure, if so by how much ? Any details would be appreciated ! Cheers Oliver Play Well. "Bram Lambrecht" <bram@cwru.edu> wrote in (...) (24 years ago, 21-Dec-00, to lugnet.build)
