Re: New sets for 2001... finally (Pictures) —Adam Murtha
Thanks for the pic Eric. Some of the new Star Wars looks nice. The Tie looks good, but can't tell about the pilot or stormtrooper really without a better pic. The shuttle is larger than I thought it would be, and it has two red imperial guards, that (...) (24 years ago, 22-Oct-00, to lugnet.general)

Re: New sets for 2001... finally (Pictures) —Paul Gyugyi
Whoo Hoo! Yes! Need. More. Throwbots. Steve Jackson, are you listening: We need GURPS BIONICLE! LegoHAMMER 2K! A Space Hulk ZNAP theme bucket. BTW, is there an agreed-upon catagory name that covers Throwbots, Roboriders and Bionicle? Could we call (...) (24 years ago, 24-Oct-00, to lugnet.general)

Re: New sets for 2001... finally (Pictures) —Mark Sandlin
    (...) I think the term you're looking for is: SPUDs <gdr> ~Mark (24 years ago, 24-Oct-00, to lugnet.general)

Re: New sets for 2001... finally (Pictures) —Andy Verner
(...) I built a helicopter out of parts from Amazon, Electro, Jet, and a few assorted pins and axles. (Okay, the rotors aren't Throwbots either, but at any rate they're mounted on Amazon's central gear.) And yes, it is more than a Throwbot with (...) (24 years ago, 24-Oct-00, to lugnet.general)

Re: New sets for 2001... finally (Pictures) —Bradley Dale
(...) That is so cool! I have Jet and Amazon already, so I'll get Electro next to try your suggestion. Here's what I've done so far- Jet- mechanized Velociraptor Jet- mechanized Brachiosaurus Amazon- mechanized Ostrich Amazon- mechanized Anaconda (...) (24 years ago, 24-Oct-00, to lugnet.general)

Re: New sets for 2001... finally (Pictures) —Andy Verner
(...) Hmm... I 'll see if I can manage some of those. I once got sort of a "bird" mode by slightly modifying Jet's carrying-case mode, and I've built Super Jet by adding parts from Granite, but the helicopter's the only really original thing I've (...)          Re: New sets for 2001... finally (Pictures) —Bradley Dale
(...) Well, I do consider Throwbots to be the abstract art of the LEGO world. It is fun. I'm sure not everyone sees my creations the way I do, although they do look like mechanized animals of some sort. (24 years ago, 25-Oct-00, to lugnet.general)

Re: New sets for 2001... finally (Pictures) —Andy Verner
(...) Nope. Suburbs, unfortunately. No buses, no taxis, no place within walking or biking distance. (24 years ago, 29-Oct-00, to lugnet.general)

Re: New sets for 2001... finally (Pictures) —Shiri Dori
(...) Ahhh- rough. I don't drive quite yet, but I get my parents to drive me to some stores once a few months, and otherwise I try to buy stuff online or from S@H (til now I'd ask permission to use my parents' CC, now I have my own Visa/ATM card).         Re: New sets for 2001... finally (Pictures) —Paul Gyugyi
So how many years ago did I coin the term SPUD (single purpose useless decorative)? I believe it was directed at the large Pirate items, rowboats in particular. The Bionicle torsos have a gear assembly: turn a wheel in the back, and the arms go up (...) (24 years ago, 28-Oct-00, to lugnet.general)
