Yes, that would be sets 487 & 987 for the letters, and 488 & 988 for the
numbers (the 400 series came in early/mid 60's, the 900 series came late
60's-early 70's). All of these sets were printed on 1x1 white bricks.
I've got both of the number sets (987 had slightly larger numbers), but
have never been able to locate (in Europe) either 488 or 988 Letter
sets. I have, over the years gotten a complete set of old Samsonite
(US) letters, but they are too small (as are the European versions) for
a Theatre Marquee. That's why I might try the large Duplo size
letters. The marquee's will probably read "FOX", "CAPITOL", etc., and
be about 10"-12" tall, maybe just right for the larger Duplo letters.
