I was going through my lego bricks last night and found what at first • seemed a
plain red 2x4 lego brick. But then I noticed that right in the middle of • it
there was a hole! The hole is right inbetween the studs:

0 0 0 0
      X
0 0 0 0

where X marks the hole.

Anyone have a clue from which set this brick could have come from? Please,
help me solve this mystery!

Hmm.... is that a part from one of the older BASIC sets, for the wheels or
soemthing?

Could be... the hole is about the same size as the holes in the old BASIC  2 x
4 Brick with Wheels Holder. I'll see if I can fit an old basic wheel into it
when I get home.

(...) Interestingly enough I have a similar brick, but it is a red ABS 2x8 brick with a hole in the center, rather than to one side. I haven't had time to investigate it yet. But something tells me it is from the period 1966-75. Gary Istok (24 years ago, 31-Aug-00, to lugnet.general)
