Picture of the Statue of Liberty

I posted the picture of the white prototype of the Statue of Liberty that will be available from Lego Direct later this year. At the bottom are two small slope pieces which are the actual color of the patina green bricks that the statue will be made (...) (24 years ago, 14-Jul-00, to lugnet.general) !

(...) and not in any way juniorized. Do you have any idea how much it'll cost, or if it's part of a series with other sets? I think I might get one, but I am wondering what else I could get (if possible), and how much it'll be. Alan (24 years ago, 15-Jul-00, to lugnet.general)

Re: Picture of the Statue of Liberty

The color will be unique to this set and is not like any color I have seen to date. It may be similar to teal, but it is not, and its hard to describe. The cost of the set is somewhere in the neighborhood of $200. Exclusive to Lego Direct. (...) (...) (24 years ago, 15-Jul-00, to lugnet.general)

Re: Picture of the Statue of Liberty

The color is almost EXACTLY what it is supposed to be - weathered copper. It is a light-to-medium green with a slight grey tint to it. Just think of heavily weathered copper, and THAT is the color. I can't wait to buy several of this set for (...) (24 years ago, 16-Jul-00, to lugnet.general)

Re: Picture of the Statue of Liberty

(...) Well the color looks really cool. The only thing is that the model looks like it is mostly Bricks. There seem to be some slopes around the head and face and some rounds and macaroni's in the Torch and Crown. Did anyone get a good enough look (...) (24 years ago, 20-Jul-00, to lugnet.general)

Re: Picture of the Statue of Liberty

It's mostly bricks - 1x/2x for the statue, 2x for the base. I told one of the people there that we REALLY needed 2x2 and 2x4 slopes in that color for copper roofs. There are a VERY few 1x2 slopes in the model. (...) ***(URL) Visual FAQ home ***(URL) (...) (24 years ago, 20-Jul-00, to lugnet.general)

Re: Picture of the Statue of Liberty

(...) I, too, castigated the poor TLC rep because the model doesn't include *any* 2x slopes at all-- how are we supposed to build roofs? I told her that the base should have a row of slopes around it, which would give many 2x slopes *and* four (...) (24 years ago, 20-Jul-00, to lugnet.general)

(...) and (...) I'm pretty excited about the new "Liberty Green" colour. I spent a bit of time examining the Statue of Liberty set, as well as asking questions about it. First of all, the one shown wasn't necessarily the 'final' set. The person I (...) (24 years ago, 20-Jul-00, to lugnet.general)

(...) Thanks for the insightful reporting David. Was Liberty's nose the only steep slope (2x2x3) in that set? I am happy that there are a few. Gary Istok (24 years ago, 21-Jul-00, to lugnet.general)
