Hmmm... I think I noticed another difference, betwen the pegs in different
chests... the one trans. pink chest I have has smaller pegs than the others, I
believe; I discovered this when I tried to mix&match the lids, but they didn't
stay on for long. It took me a while to realize this was due to the pegs,
mostly because the chest would fall apart at random times, not immediately
after I switched lids...
I'm not 100% sure this is true, 'coz the pegs are small as it is, and my
eyesight isn't perfect... but it seems to be the difference. I never tried to
switch black-brown lids.
Regarding slots in the back... I can't recall any chest that doesn't have
them, but I don't have any very-old chests.
