That doesn't sound like much fun !!!
Any indication what the glue might be?
Rubber cement, if on the outer surface only, =might= come off by rubbing it
with a dry towel, ink eraser, rubbing compound, or some other mild abrasive.
Elmers glue and other types like it are water based, I believe, and perhaps you
will have some success with simply soaking the heck out it for several days.
Immersion in boiling water may speed things up--just monitor water temp.
Since you indicated that there is some deformity to the bricks, I bet you have
Lego that has suffered under some type of epoxy or modeling glue as those type
will defintely react with the ABS Lego uses--as this type of glue is intended.
There may be some anti-glue products, but after years of hardening they may not
work well. Weak acids may work--like lemon juice or carbonated beverages. You
could even try vinegar, baking soda solutions, or acetone-based nail polish
remover (concentrated ethyl acetate may react and melt the bricks--it is a
strong drying agent).
Other than that, I cannot help. I can only hope that I never see such a
horrific thing as glued Lego.
