I seem to remember a rumour that the next Technic Supercar would be a
4x4 terrain car. Obviously, this did not turn out to be true. :-)

| (...) My understanding of the rumor was that TLC couldn't produce (i.e., introduce) any _new_ space sets (especially ships without wheels). The LEGO Insectoids product line is almost two years old now, even if some of the sets are still in (...) (24 years ago, 26-Jan-00, to lugnet.general)
