I am technically a cashier at Meijer for my second job, even though I
push carts most of the time, so I can speak for the most part. Anyway:

Most of the time, I know that I can't hear most pages over the intercom,
so she might of not heard it. Also, most of the additional clearances on
clearance items usually have a coupon to go with it. they are white,
with the discount on it. If it was me at the register, I would have
either called back and found out if the item was on sale. Not everything
that is clearance has the sticker on it, I know that from my personal
LEGO buying habits at Meijer.
You do have a reason to be upset, but that is when you need to take it
to a higher person in the chain, or someone from the department itself,
or even the service desk. Did you pursue this at all?
