IMO, not at all... I'd be more than a little choked too. However, in
all fairness to the checkout person, she may not have had the
priviledges necessary to be able to offer the discounted price without
that clearance sticker. A store manager certainly would have, and I
would have asked to speak to him or her. AFAIK, a retail outlet is
always obligated to honor their own signage or advertisements, even if
other parts of their pricing database have not yet been synchronized
with it (otherwise, I believe it falls into the same category as 'bait
and switch').
