Well, I don't hate Town Jr. so much as I lament the lack of "real" town sets.
And the idea of it spreading to other themes really disturbs me.
On reflection, I think this (the palm tree thing) is much more of a cost-
cutting move than a simplification; the set itself is otherwise reasonably
classic in construction.
One other thing I forgot to mention: it has about a dozen 2-brick-high 1x2
bricks, in lieu of standard 1x2x1's. Better than a 1x2x5, I guess...
I saw a few more Town/Spaceport sets today. The chunky boxes are really
annoying-- to a new buyer they probably won't register, but as a long-time
follower of the company it just seems like a cheap ploy to me. Probably
neither here nor there, though... it's just a box, after all.

| (...) This is actually not a new brick (not that Kev said it was, just wanted to point it out...) Harro scored some of the bricks Terry Cruse is selling with symbols printed on them that use this form factor, and I saw them before I transshipped. (26 years ago, 15-Dec-98, to lugnet.general)
