Cowboy hat - not a Town Jr. thing! —Tobias Möller
If you think that the cowboy hats are ugly and that it was better before without them, well then look here! (URL) a scan from the 1985 catalog, and what is one of the minifigs wearing? If you can´t find him, he´s just about to enter the train door. (...) (24 years ago, 15-Jan-00, to lugnet.general, lugnet.town)

(...) Everything in all the Legoland/System/Technic(and I assume all others) Idea Books is made with specific sets. That is so anyone can build anything in them, if they have the right sets. Of course, finding the sets is another problem... ;) Jeff (24 years ago, 16-Jan-00, to lugnet.general, lugnet.town)

(...) I thought this post was a bit odd, considering the above set was my first lego set. ^_^;; (24 years ago, 17-Jan-00, to lugnet.general, lugnet.town)

Oh no, cowboy hats are an ooooold and recently resurrected piece. I remember back from the eighties (around '86 probably) when I was kid, I had an ideabook in which some of the minifigs wore cowboy hats, and the sets they came with were so old that (...)          Re: Cowboy hat - not a Town Jr. thing! —Chris Ernest Hall
(...) Very old. They were used in a western set back in the mid-70s, with the original armless, faceless minifigs. Indeed, they are some of the oldest known minifig headpieces that I know of - as old as caps and black pony-tail hair. - chris (...) (24 years ago, 17-Jan-00, to lugnet.general, lugnet.town)

Re: Cowboy hat - not a Town Jr. thing! —Scott Edward Sanburn
(...) Hmmm.. I never heard of the cowboy hat / town junior link. I think the original cowboy hat was from a black minifig car, with on minifig, in the early days of the minifig era.
