That was the point I was making. I'm one of the seemingly few that only buy
Lego to build the complete model. I have little imagination, and even seem
to have problems building things based on a picture or other item. I tried
to build a piano once (because I love them almost as much as Lego) and it
turned out awful. I was not at all impressed. So, I've stuck to simply
building the model that the instructions are for.

PS 8480 is a very great model, although difficult to build. I built it the
first time, and nothing worked on it! I must have hooked up a wire wrong.
I've since torn it apart and built the submarine, which worked fine.
