Re: better scans of the 2000 arctic polar bears? —Jeff Stembel
(...) I'll see if I can scan one in this weekend, but I can confirm that they are stud-less. On the upside, the head moves. :) Jeff (25 years ago, 2-Dec-99, to lugnet.general)

(...) "Stud-less", eh? I didn't know you could tell their gender from the pictures! Oh, the places this could go.... DaveE (25 years ago, 2-Dec-99, to lugnet.off-topic.pun)

Re: better scans of the 2000 arctic polar bears? —Jeff Stembel
(...) What can I say? I have an eye for detail. Sometimes, as in this case, I wish I didn't. :) (...) I'm printing this out and putting it in a rocket destined for Mars... Jeff (25 years ago, 2-Dec-99, to lugnet.off-topic.pun)

Re: better scans of the 2000 arctic polar bears? —Lindsay Frederick Braun
(...) Those polar bears are female! I*nu*it! I think the female polar bears are the bigger, meaner ones anyhow (can anyone confirm this?)--but with all that hair, I think that on the brick itself the differences would be bearly visible. ABS doesn't (...) (25 years ago, 4-Dec-99, to lugnet.off-topic.pun)

Re: better scans of the 2000 arctic polar bears? —Lindsay Frederick Braun
(...) OOoh, and manatees...pesky manatees, they always seem to "attack" boat propellers in the Everglades...evil, ferocious, vicious beasts...! Oh yeah, and dolphins. Always squeaking! Squeak squeak squeak! Assault my ears no more, foul beasts!!! (...) (25 years ago, 3-Dec-99, to lugnet.general)

Re: better scans of the 2000 arctic polar bears? —Paul Davidson
Who me? I never put saddles on alligators -- but at least they have studs, like all good Lego pieces should. Polar bears were going to be the beasts of burden and transportation for my Alpine King in his Ice Castle. -- Paul Davidson, aka Tinman (...) (25 years ago, 3-Dec-99, to lugnet.general)

Re: better scans of the 2000 arctic polar bears? —Lindsay Frederick Braun
(...) That's true, given the use put to them in set 5988 (in dkgrey). One of the consterning things for me about sharks and dolphins is that they were really hard to modify owing to that limited studdibility (is that a word? Coinage alert!). I (...)
