LEGO in Toy Story 2? —Eric Harshbarger
Just got back from seeing TOY STORY 2 in whcih LEGO blocks *almost* made an appearance. In the first half of the film there is a scene with plastic blocks very LEGO-like which have been sculpted into a house. However, unless my eyes were mistaken, (...)         Re: LEGO in Toy Story 2? —Ben Roller
... (...) Hmm...If this one is Disney too, I'm suprised if they went with MB instead of Lego. You never know though, maybe TLC was dumb enough to not let them use Lego bricks. Ben Roller (25 years ago, 25-Nov-99, to lugnet.general)

Re: LEGO in Toy Story 2? —Bram Lambrecht
(...) AFAIK, the only LEGO-like bricks without tubes were the very first LEGO bricks and transparent LEGO bricks... I know for sure that Megabloks has tubes, even inside there transparent parts. Maybe the animators "invented" a new brand to avoid (...) (25 years ago, 25-Nov-99, to lugnet.general)

(...) ~ could it be that all the toys featured in the movie are american toys (tho' made in china, m'sure) and lego isn't? later ~ craig~ (25 years ago, 25-Nov-99, to lugnet.general)

Re: LEGO in Toy Story 2? —Damian Garcia
You would think with the Winnie the Pooh products, they would have let Lego slip in there. That is a shame! (25 years ago, 25-Nov-99, to lugnet.general)

Re: LEGO in Toy Story 2? —Mark Herzberg
(...) LEGO and Disney have very close ties (and it is not just Winnie the Pooh LEGO). However, LEGO and Mattel have EXTREMELY close ties, which is why Mattel does get the advantage. (25 years ago, 25-Nov-99, to lugnet.general)

Re: LEGO in Toy Story 2? —Larry Pieniazek
Every one of those toy brands no doubt paid for product placement (after all, potatohead and etchasketch sales went way up.). Paying for placement is a typical move. No doubt TLG wouldn't pay... that hubris thing again. (25 years ago, 25-Nov-99, to lugnet.general)

Re: LEGO in Toy Story 2? —Lindsay Frederick Braun
(...) Well, maybe the designers didn't make them LEGO or with underside tubes because they knew that genuine LEGO just isn't that easy to knock over and break? :) best, Lindsay (25 years ago, 28-Nov-99, to lugnet.general)

Re: LEGO in Toy Story 2? —Larry Pieniazek
When I wrote that, I hadn't seen the movie, but I have now, and I agree with Mr. Braun... no way would one tail swipe have wrecked a LEGO house. I'm worried that I am an Al if I'm not careful (although I can't see stealing from a garage sale...). (...) (25 years ago, 29-Nov-99, to lugnet.general)

LEGO in the Simpsons (WAS: Toy Story 2) —Dave Lovelace
(...) Our family is checking it out today...can't wait to see it. Did anyone happen to notice in the Simpsons episode the other day that they were at a "Swedish furniture store," and were using silverware made of LEGO? :-) Of course, they got the (...)
