  Re: AFOLs - The comic!

(...) Hey Jake, I responded more to the content of the comic in a thread over on FBTB, but just to give a personal testamony, for me it was Cool LEGO Site of the Week that got me out my dark ages, just seeing all the things that AFOLs were building. (...) I checked, and someone has registered afolnet.com and .org, but the owner's name isn't shown by whois. But the date of registration is 26-Feb-2004! --Bill. (22 years ago, 1-Mar-04, to lugnet.lego, lugnet.general, lugnet.org)

  Re: Article text

(...) Go back and reread exactly what I said, as I'm pretty sure you didn't understand it. I mentioned specifically "light yellow, light orange, and bright green". Why? Because they're all about the different from basic yellow, basic orange, and (...) (22 years ago, 1-Mar-04, to lugnet.general, FTX)

(...) Both cost considerable amounts of money. In fact, I'd be surprised if designing a new Hogwarts didn't cost significantly less than a huge advertising campaign would (and anything less isn't going to have the impact that you seem to desire). (...) Hope you don't mind if I chime in on the subject! The Maersk blue color was made to match exactly the official color of the Maersk company to use in sets using the Maersk name. The color was not available to the LEGOLAND modelshops until the (...) (22 years ago, 1-Mar-04, to lugnet.general)

(...) Two years ! So this means that the color swap planning goes back to almost the same time (2002 model year) that they dropped the TECHNIC moniker from Star Wars, Bionicle, et al sets. Interesting. Sounds like there was a sea change back then (...) (22 years ago, 1-Mar-04, to lugnet.general)

(...) The purple in question is indeed a new color. Along with light grey, dark grey, brown, light pink, magenta, our dear purple is also one of the old colors to fall victim to "improvments". All of those colors have been permamently retired and (...) (22 years ago, 1-Mar-04, to lugnet.general)
