Re: LEGOFan.net - central community run hub for all areas of the LEGO community.

(...) Well, if it comes down to it, there's a reason the Lugnet groups are all in a lugnet hierarchy. But as you may have gathered from my other posts, I'm strongly in favor of not duplicating discussion forums. (22 years ago, 17-Feb-04, to lugnet.org, lugnet.general, lugnet.admin.general)

Re: How do you store your instructions?

Elroy & All, (...) There have been a lot of good suggestions here already, here is how I do it. (URL) sort via size, and then number. I have an index for quick finding. I am buying so many multiples of sets now, that I file 1 copy, and then store (...) (22 years ago, 17-Feb-04, to lugnet.storage, lugnet.general)

  Re: Women and Eric?

(...) I was thinking more of talking about architecture, construction etc. I usually makes drawings and calculations before building, and that kind of work seem to be very interesting for some, espceially when explaining. I have noticed amezed (...) (22 years ago, 17-Feb-04, to lugnet.general)

(...) I'm a professional Software Engineer with 3 years of PHP and mysql experience, were I to log in and discover poorly commented, badly structured, inefficent code I don't think I'd laugh, I think I'd fix it. As a community, I think you are (...) (22 years ago, 17-Feb-04, to lugnet.build, lugnet.castle, lugnet.general, lugnet.lego, lugnet.publish, lugnet.space, lugnet.starwars, lugnet.trains)

  Re: LEGOFan.net [...]

(...) A user-configurable dynamic newspage. yeah, that'd be super-neat. Such a thing is why I'd never want to work on a printed magazine for LUGs. Scripts and the web can produce a publication that's way more efficient, up-to-the-minute, adaptable (...) (22 years ago, 17-Feb-04, to lugnet.general, lugnet.lego)

Re: How do you store your instructions?

(...) I store all of mine in a steel filing cabinet using the expandable hanging file folders and sorted by theme. The instructions stay wrinkle free, there's low humidity and no exposure to sunlight. Dawn (22 years ago, 17-Feb-04, to lugnet.storage, lugnet.general)

How do you store your instructions?

My collection has gotten to the point where tossing the instructions from all the sets into a cardboard box just isn't working any more. There is a lot of information about how to store bricks, but not much on the subject of instructions. So, does (...) (22 years ago, 17-Feb-04, to lugnet.storage, lugnet.general)

  Some good news

Not earth shattering... but good news anyway: (URL) especially like the quote from Soren Torp Laursen (president, LEGO Americas): "CLIKITS is a perfect example of how we can develop the core LEGO brand value without stretching so far that consumers (...)   Re: LEGOFan.net - central community run hub for all areas of the LEGO community.

(...) I saw someone else raise this point as well, and I don't recall reading a response so I thought I would jump in to the fray. It's quite simple. If someone writes bad code, it doesn't get incorporated in to the system. Why should it? It's also (...) (22 years ago, 17-Feb-04, to lugnet.general)

Re: LEGOFan.net - central community run hub for all areas of the LEGO community.

(...) I tend to think that the announcement was made a little prematurely. There would have less pointless speculation and argument if they'd waited until they actually had something to show, even if it were just a mocked up homepage. As it is the (...)   Re: LEGOFan.net - central community run hub for all areas of the LEGO community.

(...) Icky. What about when amatures come in and write code that is... laughable... at best. Then you have a website made of mangled, chaotic code that definetly does not help the community at all.   Re: Community run (was Re: LEGOFan.net...)
