Re: Nicely now. What do you think of the new colors?

(...) I'm still very unhappy with the change. My spending had been way up to gather the old colors. Once they are gone most of my money will go to Lego's newest competitor - the after market. This was a bad decision at a worse time. As they bemoan (...) (22 years ago, 16-Jan-04, to lugnet.lego, lugnet.general, FTX)

Re: Nicely now. What do you think of the new colors?

First of all Jake let me say thanks for providing us the stage to say what we think despite the fact you know it probably won't be good things:-( I am a LEGO fan for the last 23 years I think or so since I got my very first LEGO set and mainly a (...)   Re: Nicely now. What do you think of the new colors?

Jake McKee wrote in message ... (...) (as (...) Much of what I would say has already been said multiple times, so I won't bore you with repetition. I think it's a really, really bad idea. One of my major concerns though, is that I have no way now (...) (22 years ago, 16-Jan-04, to lugnet.lego, lugnet.general)

Are We to Tell the Public of the Color Change?

Much has been posted of the color change and of LEGO not passing along word of it to consumers. Which brings me to something that happened over the holidays. At a X-Mas family get-together, a cousin of mine asked what was in store for 2004 (her son (...) (22 years ago, 16-Jan-04, to lugnet.general, FTX)

Re: Nicely now. What do you think of the new colors?

(...) I can not help thinking that the company asking (or rather the fact that they need to be told by you Jake) AFOLs opinions' after the fact, is simply adding insult to injury. (...) To the LEGO company, I would like to make it perfectly clear (...) (22 years ago, 16-Jan-04, to lugnet.lego, lugnet.general, FTX)

Re: Nicely now. What do you think of the new colors?

Thank you Jake. I am glad that the color issue is being addressed. In my opinion, the changing of colors is only one symptom of a larger problem at LEGO. LEGO cannot be everything to everyone. LEGO should be LEGO. It is much more important to be (...) (22 years ago, 16-Jan-04, to lugnet.lego, lugnet.general, FTX)

What is the best bucket / tub?

I had a $25 Toys R Us gift card burning a hole in my pocket. I wanted to wait and see if they would stock the 4400 tub. But it is apparently discontinued. 4107 has far too may 1x1's. So I bought two red buckets - 4105. This has lots of tan and brown (...) (22 years ago, 16-Jan-04, to lugnet.general)

Re: Nicely now. What do you think of the new colors?

Jake, here are my thoughts about the color change: I have already purchased new sets utilizing the new colors and I would have to say that the new light gray looks really good compared to the old light gray. It looks a lot brighter compared to the (...) (22 years ago, 16-Jan-04, to lugnet.lego, lugnet.general, FTX)

Re: Nicely now. What do you think of the new colors?

Bottom line - I think the color change is a huge mistake. Jake, I appreciate you taking the initiative to do some fact finding on this. And I cannot pass up this opportunity to offer my views. I have been a Lego fan since 1974 when my mother put a (...) (22 years ago, 16-Jan-04, to lugnet.lego, lugnet.general)
