Are We to Tell the Public of the Color Change?

Much has been posted of the color change and of LEGO not passing along word of it to consumers. Which brings me to something that happened over the holidays. At a X-Mas family get-together, a cousin of mine asked what was in store for 2004 (her son is a big fan of Bionicle). I told her of what I’d read on LUGNET of the 2004 product line but did not say a word of the color change (I was hoping this color change was just a small blooper).

Now that this change has gone from a small blooper to a BIG BLOOPER and those in marketing have not passed along word of this color change to the public (AFAIK). Are we to do it for them(LEGO)?

I imagine we all at some point of our shopping experiences have done the courtesy of helping out other costomers in the LEGO isle (A parent trying to decide between two LEGO sets or should/should not buy a clone product.) I feel really good when I do pass along my suggestions and just about every time I have done so the shopper takes my advice and says “Thanks.”

I am of the opinion that when I am in a said situation above I am going to say “Oh, and one think about the 2004 sets, the grey bricks are going to look funny if you have some old ones.” Some has to alert the buyer.

Adr.
