Re: New colors and other info (ATTN JAKE)

(...) In Jake's defense ... I sent him an unrelated email today, and immediately received an out of office auto-reply. He's out of town until Monday, with limited email access. So, I assume this also means limited internet access. He does have other (...) (22 years ago, 21-Nov-03, to lugnet.general, FTX)

Re: What Did Consumer Affairs Say When You Called???

(...) When I called a couple of days ago, the woman I talked to at Consumer Affairs didn't know about the change. She called me back the next day and gave me the standard line about palette changes for 'sharpness' and 'clarity', but didn't know (...) (22 years ago, 21-Nov-03, to lugnet.general, FTX)

Re: Petition against permanent color changes

I AGREE THAT NEW COLORS ARE GREAT BUT REPLACING CURRENT COLORS IS A BAD IDEA. Ralph Döring, 32 I really liked the introduction of very light grey in the LEGO mosaic. Why didn't TLG use it in any other sets ? Or did I miss them ? With more shades of (...) (22 years ago, 21-Nov-03, to lugnet.general, FTX)

Re: Color Change - Call Consumer Affairs

(...) I just spoke with someone at Consumer Affairs and explained (very calmly) how the color change would affect serious modelers and train clubs. I was quoted the standard line about "the quality of the bricks has not changed." I then explained (...) (22 years ago, 21-Nov-03, to lugnet.general)

Re: New colors and other info (ATTN JAKE)

(...) Do you see what you are saying here? You are proving a point that TLG obviously ignored. If the mass public won't care, and the most vocal, most fervert fans are shocked at the idea, then WHY would they possibly decide to stop making the (...) (22 years ago, 21-Nov-03, to lugnet.general)

Re: New colors and other info (ATTN JAKE)

(...) Again Jake could speak for himself and give calm to the storm but he isn't. His existance is to be a community link to corporate LEGO and the link seems AWOL. He had time to put out a tiny fire at ILTCO yesterday while the lug net FIRESTORM (...) (22 years ago, 21-Nov-03, to lugnet.general, FTX)

  Shades of Gray

And to give illustration to the phrase, should that be the British "grey" or the American "gray"? :-) Jake has used a somewhat perjorative rendering of the no-longer-current gray as "muddy". It carries the implication that the actual plastic is not (...) (22 years ago, 21-Nov-03, to lugnet.general) !

Re: New colors and other info (ATTN JAKE)

(...) One other point, if 5 people leave the hobby, they will definitely stop buying LEGO. If the same number like the colors, does that mean that they will buy twice as much LEGO moving forward to make up for those who have left the hobby? I am one (...)   Re: New colors and other info (ATTN JAKE)

(...) Well based on the outcry here, I think it is very clear that the old colors are very popular. (...) Out of curiosity, how would you word a poll response that you would have considered to be an appropriate choice? - Chris. (22 years ago, 21-Nov-03, to lugnet.general, FTX)
