Re: New Poll, do you keep or scrap MOCs for parts?

I tend to scrap as soon as I get pictures taken. I hold onto things for a little while if I think I'll be able to make it to a LUG meeting, but I've only been to a couple of these. There are a few exceptions that I've kept together on display. These (...) (22 years ago, 25-Feb-03, to lugnet.general)

Re: New Poll, do you keep or scrap MOCs for parts?

(...) I'm with David. I don't know what "yes" means. The better answers might have been - I never build MOCS so the poll doesn't apply to me - Keep them together - scrap them for parts - Keep them together for some significant period then scrap them (...)   Re: Does this happen to you (when working on a new project)?

"David Simmons" <xenobuzz@earthlink.net> mumbled in news:HAuA33.xy@lugnet.com: (...) Indeed! Especially when doing one of two things: Building with Lego and programming. Both tasks have that "many loose ends"- feeling that have been mentioned by (...) (22 years ago, 25-Feb-03, to lugnet.general)

Re: Does this happen to you (when working on a new project)?

(...) All the time! My wife jokes with me frequently about my definition of the word "soon". She'll head off to bed, and I'll say "I'll join you soon, honey", and not actually show up for another 2 to 3 hours. This frequently happens with Video (...) (22 years ago, 25-Feb-03, to lugnet.general)

  Re: Girl LEGOs

(...) Heh, I wish. Those are actually orange bricks. It is a Lion (set #3513). I do hope the clickits can be used in MOCs, only time will tell. But I am sure my daughter will like them either way. Mark P (URL) (22 years ago, 25-Feb-03, to lugnet.general)

Re: Does this happen to you (when working on a new project)?

In lugnet.general, David Simmons writes: <<snip>> (...) It's not just new projects and not just LEGO. It happens when reading a good book or playing a good video game aswell. Just one more chapter, just one more task, just one more... LEGO is more (...) (22 years ago, 25-Feb-03, to lugnet.general)

  The Village of Dahyart

Ten years after it fell, the High Mage Greylen magically rebuilt the Tower of Olyian to suit his own needs. Not knowning it's true history, the people of Ikros began calling the tower "Greylen's Tower," and the name stuck. As Greylen's power and (...)   Re: Does this happen to you (when working on a new project)?

(...) (snip) (...) Way too often. If the project really has my focus, i'll do an allnighter without a second thought. If I'm chatting with the Lego gang online, I'll stay up all night without a second thought. Lego is simply too easy t o get carried (...) (22 years ago, 25-Feb-03, to lugnet.general)

  Re: Girl LEGOs

Oh, whine whine whine, Ahui. Some of us have been longing for pretty wearable things like these for far longer than we care to admit. I hope it's a huge hit. And FYI, the new Explore sets (URL) give you more shades of pink than you know what to do (...) (22 years ago, 25-Feb-03, to lugnet.general)

Re: Where did the lego's go?

I'm curious: what part of the country (I'm assuming you're in the USA.) do you live in? I see more than my fair share of Mega-Blocks here in Indiana, but I haven't seen any kinds of take-overs like you described. I feel badly for your state/region (...)
