I got an email today to the BrikWars contact address from a very offended
reader. Apparently one of the quotes in the Medieval Japan supplement contains
misleading information; specifically, the one in chapter MJ.6: Ninjas:
"Facts:
1. Ninjas are mammals.
2. Ninjas fight ALL the time.
3. The purpose of the ninja is to flip out
and kill people."
- The Official Ninja Webpage,
http://www.realultimatepower.net/
As it turns out, the Official Ninja Webpage may not be an entirely trustworthy
source of information.
I apologize to all my readers who placed their trust in BrikWars as a source of
well-researched and accurate information. Furthermore, I apologize to all
people who were damaged by these offensive stereotypes, especially those in the
ninja community. Please do not cut my head off or kick me right in the face.
For the sake of context, I've quoted the letter below:
> I was just reading the Medieval Japan section of the site,
> where it talks about ninjas, japanese vehicles, and the like.
> I am very interested in Brikwars, don't get me wrong. I just
> think that the part mentioning "The Official Ninja Site"
> should be removed. The quote should be removed along with it.
> The quote about what ninjas are. Maybe you haven't looked
> through the whole site yet, which I don't blame you for. This
> site is not accurate in any way. The creator of the site has
> been sued over what the site has imprinted in the minds of
> youth. I have read through the hatemail section of the site,
> and have found that ninjutsu (the way of the ninjas) is an
> honourable art. Many, many people are mad at this site
> because of the effect it has had on people. It has insulted
> many people. I am not saying that I am someone who has
> expertise in this study, I am just saying that the "facts"
> about a ninja on your site are inaccurate.

| While I appreciate your apology, I do not use brickwars as a source of well-research and accurate information. I use the official ninja website.
